Here are a few things that I either make or use to serve me or my fellow residents in my digital domicile.
Personal stuff
Here's a few of my things (WIP):- Dotfiles: A collection of configurations and scripts I have on my desktop.
- Website source: The source code for this website.
Stuff I use
Most of the stuff I use is generally open-source. Exceptions apply to things like Steam and games I play, but for my average workday I don't have to rely on any closed-source commercial software.Server
Software I run on my server:- Docker: Containerize everything. Don't let your pets roam free.
- Caddy: HTTP server and reverse-proxy. Tell everyone where to go, and confidentially.
- Synapse: Matrix homeserver. Private conversations are a right.
- Miniflux: Feed reader. No algorithm shall control my reading and watching.
Desktop
Some desktop software I use daily:- Gentoo: Main Linux distro I use. Gives all the control I need.
- Bazzite: Atomic, gaming-focused Linux distro I use on my second PC. No friction, just to the point.
- Helix: Command-line text editor. Using it for every project and language, from shell scripts and python, to C++ and Java. Perfect out of the box.
- WiVRn: Wireless VR streaming on Linux. Entering into the virtual realm while avoiding the shackles of bloated corporate pathways.
- Restic: Encrypted remote-backup solution. The virtual's physical form may decay, but its spirit shall return, unaltered and unseen.
- GIMP: Image editor. Does all I need it to. Has the bell pepper brush.
